I thought a camper van would have been the way to go. After checking out the costs, I found that I could get rooms with cooking facilities, car and pay for gas for about $75 US less per night. The downside is that you miss sleeping in nature. The comfort factor of the room and lower cost won out for us. We were out in nature all day, and often at night too.

New Zealand is heavily traveled from Asia. I would say the highest percentage of travelers to New Zealand are from Asia. There should be lots of info out there. Check out Quantas and New Zealand Air. Also check out Air China and Fiji Air.
