Adventurous Retirement Introduction

Info for your Travel Adventures from Tom + Wendy

Outdoor dining at Sunshine's on CuracaoHello from Westpunt, Curacao.  We hope this blog will give you travel ideas and tips, as well as ideas you may want to consider when you retire.  We plan to continue this endeavor for the next 15 years and grow the blog into a website that will inspire all types of travelers.

How this started
Tom retired at the end of January 2015.  I, on the other hand, am still working and pretending to be retired some of the time.  I am working virtually and have cut back from my crazy 60-80 hour work weeks.  We will travel in the winters from here forward until we can’t anymore.  After running a business for over 25 years, I am ready to work a bit less too.

Overlooking CuencaSince we have no children, we have taken different, interesting, and adventurous vacations over the years, we have learned so much in our travels – from fabulous ‘off the beaten track’ finds to some real rip-offs – and since we intend to spend 3-4 months/year traveling from this point forward, we want to share that knowledge with you.

I invite you to visit our Facebook Page and Like us. There, you will learn more ‘About Us’ and our travel preferences.  You can see if your preferences match ours.

As you follow our adventures future and past, you will gain insights into the less known ‘finds’ that engage our interest, senses, and curiosity – all at reasonable rates, and some for free.

  1. Wendy – Thanks for sharing this new venture with me. I appreciated the advice and insights on our upcoming trip to the Mexican Riviera. Your detailed knowledge of the best place to snorkel, to make sure we have wet suits and how to save a huge amount of money getting around is information that I haven’t found on other websites. Thank you!
